About Me

For starters, lets just say I am a rare combination. I am a Systems Administrator with a Ph.D in Chemistry. I finished up my Ph.D. in Chemistry at The Pennsylvania State University in August of 2006. The emphasis of my work is doing Molecular Dynamics computer simulations of ion/solid interactions. While I expanded my knowledge in Chemistry in graduate school, I was able to pick up many IT and administration skills. I was the systems administrator of our groups instrument and office computers. We also built and maintained small computational chemistry cluster which gives me experience with Linux administration and networking.

Currently I am working as a Enterprise Security Analyst in the Security Operations and Services group at Penn State University. In this position, my main role is performing enterprise security assessments along with leading our web application security program.

In my free time, I enjoy dabbling in photography, radio controlled hobbies, and all things tech. Who knows how long I will be able to keep up with this site, I usually get interested for a few months and then lose interest, but will do my best to update as time permits!
